Wow, I am soo excited that I found this club. I came across it as I was searching for classic reading list suggestions. Their site blew me away with the idea of a classics reading challenge/community. I had to sign up!!
For my list, I plan to read 50 book in the next 5 years, so the end date is set to 06/01/2023. Wow that is sooo long but it does average to about 10 books per year! Sweee! I’m so excited.
My original search was trying to get list ideas, so the actual making of the list was sort of hard. I wanted to be sure to have a mix of dates and languages. My main problem was that I was gravitating towards English books from 1700-1920…and I really wanted to diversify. Here’s my list and reading plans for the next few months, hope you enjoy. Also, I added some list stats at the bottom!
# of Authors: 45 # of Languages: 12 Total Pages: 21,535 Most Pages: 1182 - The Tale of Genji Least Pages: 93 - The Little Prince Average Pages: 430.7 Oldest Date: 720 BC - The Odyssey Newest Date: 2003 - The Curious Incident Of the Dog in the Night-time
Have you joined the classics club? If so, what are you most excited to read & what book scares you the most?
I'm an avid reader and love most all books, but my favorite genres tend to be mystery, adventure, science fiction and classics. Genres I tend to shy away from include romance, contemporary fiction and chick lit. If I’m not actually reading books, I’m probably at work shelving them at my local library.
