My blog is still new so in the designing of it, I really thought about what I liked. The first thing that came to mind was vintage flowers…then I thought of the name Books In Bloom and knew it was perfect! This was probably also inspired by the coming of Spring….let’s hope I still like the name in Fall and Winter. lol.
As far as the sidebar and widgets, I wanted to portray a very modern and streamlined appearance. I’ve tried out a few widgets and stuff but only kept the ones I felt were essentials. I sacrificed a bunch for sake of a clean design. I think my layout could still use some work, so i’m still tinkering with it. I find this to be almost the best part of blogging! 😀
As far my reviews go, I just really want people to see how open minded I am in my reading. I read posts where people get very detailed in everything they liked and didn’t like…but I just cant really do that. I don’t think in that way. I more judge the story in overall mood and how it made me feel. Some things I do tend to pick up on however is whenever I just don’t like a character. If a character isn’t likeable it almost ruins the story for me. This unfortunately is the case for books like The Girl on the Train. Most books though are find….and I have such a hard time thinking of what to write.
I'm an avid reader and love most all books, but my favorite genres tend to be mystery, adventure, science fiction and classics. Genres I tend to shy away from include romance, contemporary fiction and chick lit. If I’m not actually reading books, I’m probably at work shelving them at my local library.
