So who uses Goodreads? Probably everyone….but lately I’ve been finding it to a bit cluttered and haven’t enjoyed using it as much. After doing some searching, I think I have found two solutions that will help me organize my TBR books, reading lists and reading stats. YAY!
My first idea is called Libib.com. Heard of it? It is pretty much a library type tool where you can add books then sort them. They also have circulation abilities, but I dont really have a need for those. My idea is to have a shelf for each tbr list type, a currently reading shelf and lastly, a read shelf for each year. For tbr shelves, I’ll have one for each “type” of book, including Middle Grade, Young Adult, Adult Fiction, Nonfiction and Classics. The next set of lists I’ll have are seasonal list: a Summer reading list, Autumn reading list, Winter Reading List and Spring reading list. I’m a huge seasonal reader, so i’m actually excited about this. Then, lastly, are the yearly read shelve. My process would be to add books that I see around to the appropriate tbr or to a seasonal list, if I feel that it has a seasonal mood. At the beginning of the month I can pick my monthly tbr from the seasonal list.
As for the books read for each year and stats, i’m using an awesome new spreadsheet. I put in all the details and dates about the books and then it calculates all types of stats like pages per day, books per day, days per book, books per month and etc. I do have to work on a new tab for seasonal stats though. It also has reading challenge pages that helps keep you on track. 🙂
