New To Me Authors of 2018
Welcome to my post about my new to me authors of 2018. I think statistically every author I read in 2018 was new to me but I chose to feature only three. My top three and the ones I definitely want to read more of in 2019. If you are looking for some authors to check into, i’d definitely recommend these.
NEW TO ME AUTHORS OF 2018

H. G. Wells
Books Read: The War of the Worlds & The Time Machine
Books TBR: The Invisible Man
About H.G. Wells. In 1866, (Herbert George) H. G. Wells was born to a working class family in Kent, England. Young Wells received a spotty education, interrupted by several illnesses and family difficulties, and became a draper’s apprentice as a teenager. The headmaster of Midhurst Grammar School, where he had spent a year, arranged for him to return as an “usher,” or student teacher. Wells earned a government scholarship in 1884, to study biology under Thomas Henry Huxley at the Normal School of Science. Wells earned his bachelor of science and doctor of science degrees at the University of London.

Herman Melville
Books Read: Moby Dick
Books TBR: Billy Budd, Sailor
About Herman Melville. Herman Melville was an American novelist, short story writer, essayist, and poet. His first two books gained much attention, though they were not bestsellers, and his popularity declined precipitously only a few years later. By the time of his death he had been almost completely forgotten, but his longest novel, Moby-Dick — largely considered a failure during his lifetime, and most responsible for Melville’s fall from favor with the reading public — was rediscovered in the 20th century as one of the chief literary masterpieces of both American and world literature.

Agatha Christie
Books Read: Murder on the Orient Express
Books TBR: And Then There Were None & Murder at the Vicarage
About Agatha. Agatha Christie is the best-selling author of all time. She wrote eighty crime novels and story collections, fourteen plays, and several other books. Her books have sold roughly four billion copies and have been translated into 45 languages. She is the creator of two of the most enduring figures in crime literature-Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple-and author of The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in the history of modern theatre.
